Aims and Objectives

Increase awareness about Celiac Disease and related conditions and to represent the needs of people with Celiac Disease at a national level.

Increase awareness among afflicted people, general public, health professionals, schools, food industry and policy makers.

Organize Meetings/Case Study Presentations/ Lectures/ Workshops/ Seminars/ National & International Conferences and special events and programmes to increase awareness and educate.

Facilitate early detection of the disease and find newer and cheaper techniques.

Encourage research, new treatments through the establishment of research funds. Research possibilities include genetic engineering and possibilities of a cure.

Provide psychological support to families suffering from Celiac Disease.

Encourage research for developing a home gluten detection kit.

To discover alternate gluten free grains from different parts of the world. Create special recipes and make available foods to provide optimum nutrition throughout life and minimize complications. Organize food festivals and recipe competitions. Sensitize the food industry for better labelling i.e. full disclosure of all sources of gluten on all food products. Sensitization of food manufacturers about the disease. Information regarding gluten content for food manufacturers, food handlers, restaurants, food facilities, airlines etc. as well as providing appropriate options.

Assist and support the agencies of the Govt. of NCT of Delhi for any activities/assignments which contribute to welfare of patients and families suffering from Celiac Disease.

Undertake programmes for providing financial assistance to poor and underprivileged suffering from Celiac Disease.

Associate with other institutions nationally and globally engaged in similar and related activities.
